What is cloquet node?

The Cloquet node is a lymph node located in the neck region. It is also known as the Jugulodigastric node or the Upper deep cervical node. The node is located along the internal jugular vein and receives lymphatic drainage from the tongue, tonsil, soft palate, and pharynx. Swelling or enlargement of the Cloquet node is commonly associated with infections, malignancies, or inflammatory conditions in the head and neck region. A biopsy of the node might be necessary to diagnose the underlying cause of the swelling. Treatment usually depends on the underlying condition and may involve antibiotics, surgical removal, or radiation therapy.
